Our parish gathered for prayer this evening, to pray for the unity of the Church, during this week of prayer for Christian Unity.

SueMcCoan-150x150Rev Sue McCoan of the United Reformed Church at Wylde Green preached at our Evening Prayer, reflecting with us on the Gospel of the day. The challenge of knowing the good news and of receiving and sharing the good news was to the fore in her reflection – and also its immense consolation.

The week of Prayer for Christian Unity ends tomorrow. Take a moment to pray it out with style!

Make known in us, O Lord,
the abundance of your mercy
and, in the power of your Spirit,
remove the divisions between Christians,
that your Church may appear more clearly
as a sign raised high among the nations
and the world, enlightened by your Spirit,
may believe in the Christ whom you have sent.
Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
