VIsitation Aylesford 2008In England and Wales this year, Sunday 14th August will be kept as the Solemnity of the Assumption, (in other years it is kept on 15th August).

The Gospel of the Mass of the Day is the Gospel of the Visitation. In her Magnificat, where Mary sings of the lowly being exalted, she not only looks back to God’s constant service of the poor and weak, but her own particular experience of being raised to a new dignity in the Mystery of the Incarnation, and the experience that is still to come in the Assumption.
