Living Eucharist

novodevichy-jesusAlmighty and merciful God,
graciously keep from us all adversity,
so that, unhindered in mind and body alike,
we may pursue in freedom of heart
the things that are yours.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.

The Collect at Mass on Sunday, the 32nd of Ordinary Time, had us humbly ask to be free, available, to do God’s will.

So many things, interior and exterior to ourselves, can threaten to hinder and hobble us. And sometimes it is our own reaction to those limitations that are more disabling than the limitations themselves. And so God’s help to raise us up and draw us on is most important.

We are not alone in wanting to do what is right, or  in trying to do it…
