Thank you to the staff and volunteers of Harvington Hall for so warmly welcoming some 70 or 80 of us yesterday – children preparing to receive Holy Communion and their families.
We have plenty of time to explore gardens and to chase ducks – and even more importantly had expert guides to introduce us to the house and its history, especially during the time when Catholics were persecuted and even executed because of their faith.
We had the chance to see the ‘secret’ chapel in the loft and the ‘official’ chapel and the hides designed and built by the martyr St Nicholas Owen to help priests avoid capture
It was a memorable afternoon!
